Description The Thermal and Lighting course in semester 3 is an essential introduction for students in understanding fundamental aspects related to thermal comfort and lighting in building design. Through an interdisciplinary approach, this course discusses critical principles that form the basis for successful architectural design that is responsive to the environment and its occupants. Students will be invited to explore the basic concepts of thermal comfort and lighting, including the factors that influence these aspects in the built environment. In the thermal section, students will gain an in-depth understanding of the relationship between climate, the thermal regulation of the human body, and building design strategies that focus on energy efficiency and occupant comfort. Meanwhile, in the lighting aspect, students will learn various types of lights, light distribution, and how to plan artificial and natural lighting to create an optimal visual environment.
