Description The Archipelago Architecture course is an elective course which concentrates on students' understanding of the basic principles of local wealth and intelligence (local genius) in several regions in Indonesia. This course focuses on folk tradition architecture, in addition to grand tradition architecture. Apart from that, students also learn about culture which contains the relationship between culture and architecture, humans, cosmological systems, sacred and profane, mythology, symbols, religion and rituals as well as other local wisdom. To equip students with an in-depth understanding of regional architecture, students are given the task of observing traditional villages in West Java. This observation aims to identify the diversity of traditional architecture which consists of: culture, traditions, various traditional buildings, etc. as provisions and materials for research and professional practice. The results of the observations will be presented in front of the class in the form of a discussion and summarized in the form of a report. Therefore, the assessment aspect is carried out not only on theory, but also on the presentation of observation results.
